Welcome to Peaceful Warriors, a place inspired to help others reduce stress, relax, and find solace in a busy and oftentimes difficult world.

I am dedicated to providing a safe, nourishing environment for people of all walks of life to find their way home to themselves through the practices of meditation, mindfulness, and Reiki. I know what it’s like to be disconnected from my own being through trauma, traumatic brain injury, and post-traumatic stress. I have walked the path of learning to use these practices to lead a healthier, happier, and more creative and connected life. I specialize in working with special populations who have experienced trauma and who may suffer from diagnosed and undiagnosed symptoms of post-traumatic stress. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, advanced student, a child or teen, or someone with a need for a trauma-sensitive approach, I will guide you on your path and offer you basic, down-to-Earth tools to help you integrate the practices of meditation, mindfulness, and Reiki into your everyday life.

I am a certified meditation and mindfulness instructor, earning my certification through the McLean Meditation Institute where I studied under the direction of Best-Selling Hay House Author, Meditation Expert, and former Army Behavioral Specialist, Sarah McLean.  Learning to relax, reduce stress, and find solace in my day to day life has become a way of life for me and as a McLean Meditation Institute Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher I am able to offer that to others. I graduated in July of 2014 from the Meditation Teacher Academy in Sedona, Arizona and offer S.E.E.D. programs to interested groups.S.E.E.D. stands for Simple. Easy. Every Day. Meditation and it is that simple....anyone can do it! Busy minds included! The S.E.E.D. program has certified me to offer meditation in a way that is suitable and accessible for all people, including children, to learn how to reduce stress and live a healthier, more balanced life. Meditation truly is an accessible skill that is not reserved for a rare few. In July of 2016, just two short years later, I had the opportunity to work as the Meditation Teacher Academy Assistant to Sarah McLean where I had the opportunity to help run the eight day intensive, but was also able to share my experiences with special populations, trauma, and the building and creation of my very soulful and inspired business with the new group of graduating meditation teachers.

I also have advanced training and certification in military combat stress, trauma, military sexual trauma, post-traumatic stress, and resiliency is through the "Warriors At Ease" program based in Silver Spring, Maryland. I was trained by the highly experienced veterans and professionals of the program to serve the well-being and needs of the active duty and veteran populations and their families. The military population is close to my heart as I come from a military family and have over eight years of volunteer experience with our wounded and active duty troops at the former Army Warrior Transition Unit of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ. Everything I learned from the soldiers at the Warrior Transition Unit is part of the work I do today. They inspired me to start Peaceful Warriors because they believed my personal experiences with trauma, traumatic brain injury, and post-traumatic stress could help others like them. With their support and encouragement, I opened Peaceful Warriors and wrote my first book, "The Camouflaged Heart."

"The Camouflaged Heart" tells my story of traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress, trauma, and the common ground I found with soldiers at the local Warrior Transition Unit. Please visit my author website at www.thecamouflagedheart.com to purchase your very own copy. It may very well help you or someone close to you through their journey of trauma. My personal history of trauma and post-traumatic stress has led to the recognition and awareness of a growing need to help others develop the tools needed to reclaim the land within their own souls through the practices of meditation and energy work. Meditation and energy work are two modalities that have helped me to attain a sense of balance, connectedness, and improved physical, mental, and emotional health. What I teach others is what I have used with great success myself.

I am also a Reiki Master Teacher having studied each level of Reiki with Reiki Master Teacher, Ann Mort, through Reflections of Light, where I was trained and certified in the Usui Reiki Method of Natural Healing. I offer private Reiki sessions,  Reiki Shares for certified Reiki practitioners, as well as, group Reiki certification classes. I offer energy work sessions to help people like you reduce the impact of stress and strain on the body. By balancing the body's bio-energy field, I am able to provide a relaxing experience for others. Reiki is something I explored some years back to help myself and I knew after three sessions that I wanted to become certified in it to help others. Reiki is a relaxing and very natural experience.

I am a member and scholarship recipient of the Business and Professional Women of Southern Ocean County (BPWSOC). I was awarded scholarships two years in a row through BPWSOC to gain valuable tools for my office. In 2016, I was awarded a scholarship to purchase two therapeutic weighted blankets to help comfort clients suffering from stress and anxiety when meditating or receiving Reiki. Many clients describe these 15lb. and 20lb. blankets as feeling like a big, strong hug. In 2017, I received a scholarship to purchase a series of eight meditation cushion sets to provide classes for larger groups.

I am also a member of The National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), having appeared three times on the Hunterdon County New Jersey Chapter's Award Winning Radio Program: Mental Health Matters, where I had the opportunity to speak about post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, stress,  and the holistic practices of meditation and Reiki.

Come meet me, reduce stress, relax, and experience what meditation and energy work have to offer you. Thanks so much for visiting Peaceful Warriors and I look forward to meeting you.
